This is not a government office. Hartford County Residents Directory is a private reference. It cannot pull records, certify copies, confirm who lives at an address, or remove anyone from a roll. For an emergency call 911. If someone is being stalked or harassed, contact local police.
Choose the Office That Holds the Record
For the common Hartford County questions, the shortest route is the source that owns the record:
- Street and parcel records: use By Street for assessor, GIS, deed, and permit routes.
- Historical volumes: use City Directories for HPL, Geer, FamilySearch, reverse-directory, and archive access.
- One person: use the Resident Lookup workflow for court, voter, vital, probate, property, and license checks.
- Court files: start with the Connecticut Judicial Branch Civil/Family Case Look-up, then ask the Hartford Judicial District clerk or Court Service Center about a docket or permitted copy route.
- Records outside a portal: ask the named custodian for a copy or submit a focused request under Connecticut’s Freedom of Information Act, Conn. Gen. Stat. §§1-200 et seq., where the record is public.
